Bassist and Groove Master Extraordinaire
Derrick Vaz is an upright and electric bassist from South Florida. He is currently residing and working in the Columbia, SC metropolitan area. Known for his versatility, lyrical solos, and ‘thump’-ability, Derrick can be seen performing various styles such as jazz, funk, rock, and Latin music all around the Southeast.
Derrick performs regularly with his groups, the DEG Jazz Trio and the Derrick Vaz Band, as well as the Carolina Jazz Xperience, Robert Gardiner Quartet and Latin Caravan.
